Here is my creation for day #8 of AEDM, a small abstract that I call “Patchwork”. It measures 6 x 6 inches, acrylics on stretched canvas. Just 3 more days worth and I’ll be caught up…whew! I’ve got 2 more abstracts and 3 realistic paintings in the works, all in acrylics.
See you again soon! Thanks so much for your interest in my art. :o)
I have been creating art every day, just not posting it as I should. I hope to be caught up with my postings this weekend. For now, this is the piece that I created for day #7 of Art Every Day Month, an acrylic on stretched canvas ( 11 x 14 inches ) that I call “Worlds Within”. I am truly enjoying these abstract paintings. They are a mystery until completion, as I do not begin with any idea of what I want to do, and more or less let them paint themselves. I just begin putting down areas of color and let things happen as they will. Best of all, I can finish one each day…not so easy to do with my realistic subjects.
Thank you for visiting, and have a wonderful weekend! :o)
“Cup and Cherries”
Okay…for the past few days I have been working on this little still life painting in oils, wet into wet. I am not a big fan of working in this way. I usually work in layers, allowing each layer to dry before moving on to the next. For AEDM I am trying to finish a painting in one sitting, and as such am very much out of my comfort zone. I also have a rotten headache from the stress of trying to get it right while working into wet paint…not fun! I’m hoping that working in this way will help me to improve my speed and efficiency in this medium…eventually, lol! At the moment it is shear torture! I think I will choose something less complicated for my next piece…one piece of fruit, maybe?
Thank you for visiting, and have a great week! :o)
“Birth of the Sun”
I’ve made it to day #3 of “Art Every day Month” with another abstract acrylic painting…my favorite so far, probably due to my love of astronomy. I never know how these things are going to turn out, but somehow this one made me think of space and what the birth of a star might look like. So I added the spot of white and suddenly the star became our sun. I believe those colors are really out there…we just can’t see them. It’s fun to imagine how such an event might have looked had we only been there to see it.
Thank you for visiting, and have a pleasant weekend. :o)
It is day 2 of Art Every Day Month and I just did finish this painting in time to post it before midnight. This is another PADT challenge that I didn’t quite finish in time to submit, so thought I’d post it here. Thanks so much to Leah Stankovic for sharing her lovely reference photo. It is 5 x 5 inches, oil on stretched canvas.
Thank you for visiting and for sharing this journey with me. Have a great day! :o)
I’m going to give it a try this year, as I’ve missed it for the past few. I haven’t decided if I will have a theme or not. It will probably be whatever I can manage to finish each day.
Thanks for visiting, and have a great day! :o)
“Happy Halloween, 2017”
Just wanted to wish you all a very happy Halloween…even though it is a bit late, lol! Here is a little oil painting I did just for the occasion (5 x 7 inches on stretched canvas). Hope your day was ghoulishly good. :o)
Thank you for visiting and best wishes to you and yours for a joy-filled holiday season.
